Issues on Mac OSX after changing Meadowbrook password - clearing the Keychain
After you change your Meadowbrook password, you may expeireince issues printing and accessing network resources on OSX. You may find that after you print, printing seems to work but will require you to enter your username and password. Even after entering your username and password, the print will not complete and will act as if your password is incorrect. Follow these instructions to clear these issues. 1. Open Spotlight In the top right of the white menu bar at the top of the screen, click the magnifying glass. 2. Search for keychain access Search for keychain access and press return (enter). 3. Search Keychain Access 1) Search for "mbutility" 2) Select the item(s) and press the delete key on the keyboard. If there are multiple items, be sure to select and delete each one. 4. Delete the Keychain Item(s) 4.1. Optionally, Search for VPN If you use the Meadowbrook VPN, search for VPN and delete the item.

How to reset PRAM or NVRAM on your Mac
Resetting PRAM or NVRAM is a useful first step to resolving login problems, fans running loudly, a computer that doesn't turn on correctly, volume issues, screen issues, unexpected shutdowns, and many more problems that may arise. Shut your computer all the way down by clicking the apple icon in the top left corner of your screen and choosing "Shut Down..." After 10 seconds with the computer completely powered off (no lights, no sound, no spinning wheel on the screen), press the power button again to turn the computer on. IMMEDIATELY after hitting the power button, press and hold the following four keys at the same time Continue to hold the above keys for at least 20 seconds or until you have heard a startup noise at least twice While holding these keys, your computer should make a startup sound and flicker back off and on again. Continue to hold these keys the entire time. If your computer goes straight to the login screen without restarting first, shut it down and try again.

How to reset the SMC on your Mac
Resetting the system management controller (SMC) can resolve certain issues related to power, battery, fans, display, charging, and other problem. Plug in your Mac Shut your computer all the way down by clicking the apple icon in the top left corner of your screen and choosing "Shut Down..." After 10 seconds with the computer completely powered off (no lights, no sound, no spinning wheel on the screen), press and hold the Shift, Control, and Option keys. While you are still holding the Shift, Control, and Option keys, use your other hand to press and hold the power button. Continue to hold these four keys for 10 seconds. Your computer should not turn on during these 10 seconds. If it does, start the process again. Once all four keys have been held for at least 10 seconds, release the keys and press the power button to power on your computer again; your SMC has now been reset.

If an app requests access to your mic or camera (for Zoom, Google Hangouts, etc.), you can give it permission in your System Preferences. Open your System Preferences by clicking the apple icon in the top left corner of your screen and choosing "System Preferences..." From System Preferences, open Security & Privacy If your first System Preferences screen does not look like this, you will need to use the back button in the top left to get back to that screen In Security & Privacy, click the lock in the botton left of the window Enter your computer login or administrator password and click "Unlock" Once unlocked, you may select Camera, Microphone, or whatever feature the app is requesting access to use from the left side of the window Once the feature is selected, you may check off the applications that you would like to give permission to use that feature in the middle pane

How to force a stuck and unresponsive app to quit
If an app will not respond to mouse clicks, is showing a spinning beach ball, won't close, or runs very slowly, you may need to force it to quit. Note: this will delete any unsaved work in the app, so only use this as a last resort if you have unsaved text, photo editing, etc. There are two ways to quit or force quit apps. Try the second if the first one isn't working. Option 1: Press and hold the two keys Command (⌘) + Q If this works, the app will close on your computer. You can now re-open it and try again. If you needed to quit many apps, try restarting your computer before re-opening the apps. Option 2: Press and hold Option + Command (⌘) + ESC On the window that appears, click on the app that you want to quit and click Force Quit
