How to email parents through MyMeadowbrook
As of the fall of 2018, we no longer use Google email groups to provide a way to email parents in bulk. Instead, we suggest either using the Blog feature (preferred) or the bulk email feature of MyMeadowbrook to email parent groups. In this article, we'll be showing the two ways to email parents in bulk, and the advantages and disadvantages of both. Log in to MyMeadowbrook From www.meadowbrook-ma.org, click Login in the top right Log in with your Meadowbrook account Your username is the part of your meadowbrook-ma.org email address before the @ sign. Click the group you'd like to message In this case, we'll be showing how to message the 6th grade class. Blog - the preferred method Click Blog in the navigation bar to navigate to the blog. Posting a blog article is much preferred as the method to message parents. A blog article remains visible to parents in the blog, which can easily be referred back to in the future. These entries are also available to you, and can be helpful in referring back to previous years. Finally, parents are instructed to turn on notifications for blog entries, so any blog entry will notify parents of the content you post. Click the + New Blog Post to compose a new blog entry. Compose your blog entry Enter your title and content, using the formatting features to insert images, links, etc. Click Publish to send your blog entry. Less preferred method - Bulk email Another option is to bulk email parents. This is less preferred as the message does not stay available in your sent box or on the website. To send a bulk email, click the bulk email link under Members. Compose your message Select the recipients and compose your message. Consider BCCing yourself to keep a copy of the message in your email. Messages sent through bulk email are not saved in any way on the website.

How can I use the Name Directory to better learn how to pronounce community member's names?
In an effort to help us learn, pronounce and use names correctly, we seek to record each student and faculty member's name and make that available to the community. Please help us in this effort by recording your name clearly when prompted by a member of the tech dept! Accessing the Name Directory - Desktop Website Go to directory.meadowbrook-ma.org in your browser to access the name directory. Here you can search by name, grade or moose mail address and view community member portraits, name pronunciation, birthdate and more. Accessing the Name Directory - Mobile App You can also access an easy to use app on your phone or mobile device by visiting https://mbdirectory.glideapp.io/ in your browser, or alternatively, scanning the QR code below. Upon opening the app, you will be prompted for a password, which is "NamesAreImportant"

Dropbox
Dropbox is a great file syncing tool. You can get it at this site. Upon download, it will make a folder called "My Dropbox" Simply put files in the folder to upload them to your dropbox account. You will still have copies of the files on your computer, but other computers with Dropbox installed and registered for your account will immediately update the files as you update them on another computer. You can access your files from anywhere online and you can make changes to them on any computer you have registered.

How to Fix the Modulating Microphone on Windows 10
The Problem: you are using Microsoft Windows with Zoom and find that the volume of your voice is going up and down while speaking. You don't notice it but people on the other end of the meeting can hear you for a few seconds and then you fade out for a few seconds. This repeats over and over again. The solution: Turn off Enable Audio Enhancements on the Microphone On the Windows Taskbar, right-click the speaker icon and then click Open Sound Settings. 2. Under Input, click Device Properties. 3. In the Device Properties window, click Additional device properties. 4. Click the Advanced tab. 5. Go to the Advanced tab and uncheck the box parallel to Enable Audio Enhancements. 6. Click OK.

Setapp Educational Plan w/ Meadowbrook Email
What is Setapp? Setapp is a collection of Mac apps included in a subscription service. This includes YouTube video downloaders, better screenshot editors, gif editors, productivity tools, and a whole lot more. It is a bit staggering just how much is included in this subscription bundle. For more info, check out the Setapp website here (https://setapp.com/). While the subscription is normally $9.99/month, there is an educational discount for student and teachers that brings the price to $59.88/year (half the normal cost). Normally, this discount is only available with a .edu email address. Here are the steps to take to get this discount with our .org email addresses. Creating Your Setapp Account To create your Setapp account, click the "Try Free" button at the top right corner of the page. You will be prompted to either enter an email to make an account with, or to sign in with Apple or Google. I used the "sign in with Google" button, but you can also make an account by typing your email in. As long as the account has ".meadowbrook-ma.org" as the end of the email address, you are good to go. Once you have set up your account, it should look like this: Applying Educational Discount To get the educational discount for our Setapp account, we need to reach out to Setapp support. To do this, go to the "Submit a request" page here (https://support.setapp.com/hc/en-us/requests/new). If the page above does not work, you can also get to the Submit a request page by finding "Support" at the bottom of the Setapp home page, then clicking "Submit a request" at the top right corner of the Support page. From the list of problem types, select "Billing questions". From here, put a subject & message asking for the educational discount with your Meadowbrook email address. The subject I used was "Setapp Educational Discount". Here is the message that I sent. Feel free to copy & paste this message, putting your email address and first name where listed. Hello, I am trying to get a subscription with the educational discount (I work at the Meadowbrook School of Weston) with my work email ([YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS HERE]) but do not see a plan option with the educational discount. Would you be able to assist me with this? Thanks, [YOUR NAME HERE] Once you have written the message, hit "Submit" at the bottom of the page. Response From Support Once you have received a response from support, you will have the educational discount on your account! You can now enter your payment information & start your 7 day trial before your first billing cycle begins. To enter this info, go to the page here (https://my.setapp.com/subscription).
