How do I update my Meadowbrook iPad and important apps?
Usually, Meadowbrook IT will handle updating the OS of student and faculty ipads. However, sometimes because of performance issues, we have to manage an update on the fly. Find and tap on the Settings app. Once in settings, find General in the left column of options. When tapped, the right pane will show a Software Update option. Tap on that. Your iPad may be up to date. Otherwise, you will see a message about a new version available. Tap on Download and Install. The download may take some time to happen. You should plug in your iPad to charge during this process unless it is at a very high charge level. Once the iPad has updated, it may walk you through some setup for the new OS such as Siri, Location Services, and new options. After the OS is updated, you will need to update critical apps such as Zoom, Seesaw, Epic, and IXL. Open the Manager app. Once opened, it may ask for location services. You can cancel that. Tap on the Self Service button to see the apps assigned to the iPad. You can scroll through to find the apps and tap on the (Re)install/Update button beneath the ones you would like to update.

Why is Epic asking for a login on a student account?
Epic uses a fee structure for access before and after school hours. This means if you are trying to log in not during school hours, parents will have to create an account and submit a payment for access to Epic resources. If Epic asks for a login during school hours, it is most likely that your iPad clock is set to the wrong time zone. Go to Settings -> General -> Date and Time Turn off "Set Automatically" and tap on the timezone shown in the Time Zone option. Often this is Cupertino. Type in Boston.
