How do I use the stage lights in the Vinik?
Part 1: Powering on the dimmers and lighting board
1. Power on the dimmers by flipping the breakers to the position labeled "on". The dimmers and breakers are located in room T-113. T-113 is reachable through the double doors to the left of the stage from the perspective of the audience. T-113 is the first door on your right after entering the double doors.

2. Head up to the AV booth on the second floor of the Vinik.
3. Plug in the power cable for the lighting board into the back and screw it until tight. Once in, the board will automatically start up.

Part 2: Operating the lighting board
1. For most show needs, there are preset lighting looks for you to choose from. To use these, select the "playback 1" button on the touch screen.

2. Raise the playback master fader as high as it will go. It's located immediately above the "playbacks" label at the top of the screen.
WARNING: If the playback master fader isn't turned up, the lights WILL NOT turn on.

3. The presets are written out on tape beneath each fader. Move the faders up as high as they will go to set the chosen preset to the maximum brightness. The presets can be dimmed to your preference by lowering their faders.
Part 3: Powering off the lighting board and dimmers
1. Hold the power button on the lighting board and follow the onscreen prompts to put the board into hibernation mode. You can release the power button once the screen prompts you to confirm you want to shut down the board.

2. The board will tell you on screen that it's in hibernation mode and it's safe to remove the power cable from the back. Unscrew the power cable and leave it resting behind the lighting board.
3. Head downstairs to the dimmers and breakers located in room T-113.
4. Power off the dimmers by flipping the breakers to the off position.
Part 4: Helpful tips
1. If you see only one light coming on at a time when you move faders, you are in channel mode. Refer back to step 1 of Part 2 to switch to playback mode.
2. If no lights are coming on at all, refer back to Part 1 and follow the steps in the article to make sure every part of the lighting system is on.
3. The stage right and stage left presets each light half the stage. Left and right refer to stage directions which are from the perspective of an actor on stage looking out at the audience.
