How do I share my iPad screen in a Zoom meeting?

On the Zoom Room iPad controller, select the big green Share Content button.

Then select the iPad/iPhone middle tab. It will give you directions on how to connect your iPad.

Sharing an iPad screen in your computer Zoom session (host or participant):

Once the zoom session is running on your computer (either as host or participant), open the Zoom app on your iPad. Log into the app using your Meadowbrook Google account.

Select the Share Screen button

You may be asked to provide the Sharing Key or Meeting ID.

You can find this information in the host Zoom session by selecting the green shield in the upper left corner.

You will be prompted to start a screen capture if you have never shared this iPad before. Scroll down the list of options until you see Zoom. Tap on Zoom, and then tap on Start Broadcast.

You probably don't want your microphone on.

Once the broadcast starts, tap your home button to return to your home screen.

You can also share your iPad from within a Zoom meeting on a computer. See section titled, "Sharing your iPad screen from your Mac computer Zoom session (Legacy).

Sharing your iPad screen in a Zoom meeting you have joined using your iPad:

In your Zoom meeting, tap the screen to reveal the Zoom controls. Then tap the green Share Content button.

From the dropdown menu, select screen or any other content from your iPad you wish to share.

If you have never done this before, the window that pops up will be titled Screen Recording. Scroll down through the apps until you see Zoom and tap on it. Then the title should be Screen Broadcast. Tap on Start Broadcast. You can choose to have the microphone on or off.

You will then see a Broadcasting screen. Tap the home button to access the content and apps you wish to share. Your screen during broadcast is not automatically recorded even though the message says it will be. You can return to this screen to start or stop the mic and end the broadcast by double tapping the home button and selecting Zoom.

While you are on another app, you will not see the Zoom meeting. Participants in the Zoom meeting will see your screen pinned and a video off instance of your iPad's Zoom session.

To end your screen share, you may tap on the small broadcast icon in the upper right of your screen or return to the Zoom app and tap on the end broadcast button. In the Zoom app, tap on the broadcast window to make it disappear in order to see the Zoom meeting participants again.

Sharing your iPad screen from your Mac computer Zoom session (Legacy):

Try one of the first two sharing methods before using this one.

If you have not updated your Zoom app or some other issue prevents you from sharing your iPad screen, you can use this other method if you are using a Mac computer to join the Zoom meeting.

From your computer, select the green share screen button. One of the options is iPhone/iPad via Airplay. Once you tap that, you click on the start share button.

Your screen will then give you a message that you need to select your Zoom session airplay in the airplay menu of your device. You will need to be on the same Wi-Fi network, too.

On your iPad, swipe diagonally down from the upper right corner to reveal the airplay option. Select the Zoom airplay option from the list of available airplay connections.

The meeting host may have to let you in the meeting. When you want to stop sharing, on your computer, select the red Stop Share button.

Things you can do on a shared iPad screen in a Zoom meeting:

There are many ways of using a shared iPad screen. You can use it as a document camera. Ipevo Whiteboard is a great app for doing this.

Apple has added an annotate feature in some of its core apps. You can enable it when you see a blue pen icon. It brings up an annotation palette. This example is a PDF document being viewed in the Files app.
