How do I best distribute Zoom meetings now that meeting passwords are required?

Distribute not only the Zoom URL but also the Meeting ID and Password

Now that passwords are required for education accounts, it's important to not only share the Zoom URL, but also the meeting ID and Password as text.

Occasionally students are having issues joining with the new password-enabled links. By sharing the Meeting ID and Password as text, students can manually join meetings by entering the ID and password in the app.

Enable the Waiting Room

Each meeting should also have the waiting room enabled. This allows you to verify people wishing to join the meeting.

Be ready to remove if needed

With the meeting password and waiting room turned on, the vast majority of zoom bombing attempts will be prevented. However, if a student shares the meeting URL, ID and password, and provides the name of someone you'd expect to join your meeting, it is still possible that you could unwittingly admit someone from the waiting room that shouldn't be.
